Hearing care retailer Beltone announced on March 24 that it will support displaced Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the U.S. in need of hearing care assistance. The company’s 501(C)(3) charitable organization, The Belton Hearing Care Foundation, will provide free hearing screenings and complimentary hearing aids to refugees who lost their hearing devices or had their hearing damaged during the attacks on Ukraine.
To access these benefits, Ukrainian refugees in the U.S. may visit one of the 1,500 Beltone hearing care centers nationwide to receive a free hearing screening. Upon assessment, the hearing care provider will submit the appropriate hearing aid request to The Beltone Foundation for fulfillment. Refugees who are fitted with new hearing aids will also receive free lifetime care on these devices.
GN, Beltone’s parent company, donated $1 million to UNICEF to support children impacted by the war.
“Beltone is proud to stand with Ukraine and support refugees during their time of need,” Mike Halloran, president of Beltone, said in a press release. “In addition to their donation to UNICEF, GN showed support to Ukraine by suspending trade with Russia, and we’re pleased to be able to also offer help domestically through The Beltone Foundation.”
