Thousands of Charles Schwab employees recently packed and donated almost 1 million nutritious meals for families across America as part of the company’s annual “Season of Giving.”
Schwab employees volunteered in 13 cities to assemble meal packages that will be distributed to local families in need. Additionally, the Charles Schwab Foundation donated $300,000 to local food banks and nonprofits fighting hunger in areas where Schwab employees live and work.
According to the annual Household Food Insecurity in the United States report issued by the USDA, over 47 million individuals, including 1 in 5 children, experience food insecurity every year
“Food insecurity is a crisis that affects the health, education, and well-being of families and communities,” said Chris Wyse, head of Corporate Affairs at Charles Schwab and a Charles Schwab Foundation board member. “When you have a nutritious meal, it’s so much easier to focus on the things that will help you excel in school, succeed at work, and thrive in life. At Schwab, one way we help build stronger communities is by working with local food banks and hunger relief organizations to make a meaningful difference for families who need it most.”
Nearly 10,000 employees volunteered in 2024 and gave more than 6,000 hours during the 2024 “Season of Giving.” The workers also hosted in-office drives and volunteer events.
For the meal donations drive, Charles Schwab partnered with humanitarian hunger relief nonprofit Harvest Pack.
“One in ten Americans live in a household with food insecurity,” said Harvest Pack Executive Director William McNally. “It’s a pressing issue, but through the support of companies like Charles Schwab that are deeply invested in their local communities, we can help provide families in need with nutritious meals this holiday season.”
