An upcoming webinar for CFP professionals will show how to advise federal government employees facing career uncertainty.

The webinar, “Advising Federal Government Employees During These Uncertain Times,” will be given Thursday, March 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. ET. Karen P. Schaeffer, 2007 CFP Board Chair, will explain how advisors can help federal employees make the best decisions while navigating the Federal Retirement System (FERS), Federal Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and other benefits.

“Many federal government employees are facing uncertainty about their careers, and certified financial planner professionals are in a unique position to give them the tools, information and confidence to make smart money decisions,” according to a release from the Foundation for Financial Planning, which is sponsoring the event.

Webinar attendees will be eligible for two CFP continuing education credits. CFP professionals who complete the training can be listed on CFP Board’s website as offering financial planning services to current and former federal employees pro bono or at a reduced rate of no more than $250 per hour. A consent form will be emailed to participants following the webinar.

Attendees are asked to ensure that their participation complies with laws, regulations, and their firm’s policies. To register, click here.
