Foundation Source, the largest U.S. provider of cloud-based charitable giving services, has named Suzanne van Staveren to its Board of Directors.

Van Staveren is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Edelman Financial Engines.

“We are excited to welcome Suzanne to the board during this pivotal time for Foundation Source,” the firm’s CEO Joseph Mrak III said in a news release. “We have achieved recent significant milestones that have paved the way for our future success as the partner-of-choice for enterprise-level PhilTech, and I’m confident that Suzanne’s vast experience will help push us to new heights.”

Foundation Source recently appointed several other industry veterans to its board: Mark Casady, Pamela Norley and Chip Roame.

Additionally Foundation Source recently acquired Vennfi, a fintech firm that serves donor-advised fund sponsor Charityvest, and PG Calc, a firm providing planned giving software and services. Foundation Source reports that following the acquisitions, it is now the only provider of a turnkey platform that enables wealth managers to offer a comprehensive set of philanthropic solutions.

Van Staveren has over 20 years of leadership experience with financial services organizations. Before joining Edelman Financial Engines in 2022, she was the CFO of Goldman Sachs’ Personal and Financial Management Group. Before that, she was head of Ayco’s Sales Strategy and Execution and Corporate Benefits Specialists teams.

“It’s an honor to work with a company that is dedicated to advancing the wealth management space with accessible and effective philanthropic solutions that integrate charitable giving into the financial planning conversation,” van Staveren said in the release. “I am passionate about helping innovative companies expand their platforms and develop talent, and I look forward to joining the Foundation Source board in this new phase of growth.”
