Commonwealth Increases Alternative Market Access With iCapital Platform

The new system is targeted to high-net-worth investors but will be expanded to serve individuals of other wealth classes.

Commonwealth Financial Network is partnering with fintech firm iCapital to increase access to the alternative investment marketplace.

iCapital’s white label platform will allow affiliated advisors to efficiently source nontraded alternative investment opportunities for high-net-worth client portfolios, according to a news release from Commonwealth.

HNW investors increasingly demand alternative investments, according to a Cerulli Associates study.

Refined during a pilot program, the integrated platform allows advisors to conduct research and education, perform due diligence, and facilitate subscriptions. The product set is geared toward HNW investors, but Commonwealth plans to expand it to accommodate additional net worth levels in the future.
